To no one’s surprise, the stunt performed by Sasha Cohen’s character, Bruno, on Eminem on last weekend’s MTV Movie Awards was just that… a stunt. Eminem said he went back to the hotel and laughed. Interesting…
According to hiphopdx.com, VH1 has chosen to focus this year’s Hip Hop Honors show solely on the legendary Hip Hop label, Def Jam.
The show, will air on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 9:00 PM, will commemorate the storied label’s 25 years in the industry, including segments on founders Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons. Also a part of the event, as is now customary, many Hip Hop stars will show to perform some of the label’s biggest hits, both past and present. None of the performers have been announced as of yet.
The sixth annual event will be hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan for the third time in a row.
I’m sure you’ve seen, or at least heard about the incident at last night’s MTV Movie Awards Show between Eminem and Bruno, Sasha Baron Cohen’s Austrian gay model character from the upcoming film of the same name. If you haven’t, here’s a brief rundown.
Bruno was being flown out (wings and all) over the crowd on a rope in the rafters to present an award. There was a malfunction and he had to be lowered down into the audience. Well, he just happened to land on Eminem, and in a very compromising position. Oh yeah, let’s just say the Bruno’s cheeks were not exactly covered. Needless to say, a brief exchange ensued between Em’s crew D12 and an upside down hanging Cohen, then Eminem stormed out of the arena.
I saw Terminator on Monday and thought that it was much better than the initial reviews that were coming in last week. The story line was intact and not too confusing (time travel always brings in some element of confusion but it was handled well here). Action sequences were handle well. I think that overall the acting in the film was OK, I mean nobody’s getting any nominations for it (Oscars or Razzies). It’s a summer action flick, what more do you expect?
Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called “Slayers” looks to regain his independence while taking down the game’s mastermind.
Cinematical is reporting that Will Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertaiment, and Sony have bought the rights to the life sory of Hurricane Karina hero John “The Can Man” Keller. The film, The American Can is being helmed by John Lee Hancock.
Keller, who was a resident of the American Can Company at the time of the storm, helped the other residents of the building — many elderly and/or handicapped — and a few refugees stay safe while the flood waters raged outside. Keller also documented his story with photos and videotape. He told The Times-Picayune in 2007, “There were other people rescuing people. But they didn’t hot-wire boats, hot-wire cars, swim to the grocery store, come back with food, cook for all those people, organize them, get the thugs off them.” In the end, 244 people were evacuated safely with help from Keller.
So far no one has been cast as Keller, but it sounds like Smith is gunning for the role. We’ll be sure to keep an ear out on more developments but it sounds like Will is trying to find project to get him back on the big box office track.
