Well, it looks like the presidential elections have taken a turn for the worst!! Just yesterday, it was announced that Kanye West and 50 Cent will enter into the next debate scheduled to air on BET on September 11, the release date for their CDS, Graduation and Curtis.
No word yet on how the democrats or the republicans will react to these new opponents, or even the fact that BET is airing the debate. And contrary to the rumors, it has been confirmed that Don Imus will not be the moderator! I repeat, he will not tbe the moderator.
All jokes aside, it is being reported that 50 and ‘Ye will debate on BET. I’m not exactly sure what the questions will be or if any of it will be relevant to anything, but I suppose it will be interesting.
All of this is stemming from the fact that both of their new CDs are dropping on the same day, September 11. 50 was trying to get stuff started by saying that Kanye is going to lose and 50 will sell more records. Which we all know, that is the most important thing about the music business these days, selling more records (not really making good ones). Kanye has repeatedly took the humble route and has said he’s really not trying to compete with 50, and wouldn’t really care if he came in second place (sounds like a different Kanye than from a couple years ago, huh?).
Well, if you want to find out more about the debate, stay tuned or do a Google news search on it. I’m guess, if anything, it will be a decent day for hip hop record sales…
(PS-pre-orders and tracklists are available at iTunes for both CDs)
