British actor Idris Elba will appear in six episodes of the NBC sitcom The Office later this season. The announcement was made Thursday afternoon during NBC’s portion of the TV Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles.
While details are being kept under wraps, NBC did say the actor will play a no-nonsense hire at Dunder Mifflin’s corporate office who rankles Scranton branch manager Michael Scott, played by star Steve Carell.
Before you ask, what does this have to do with hip hop, Idris, or DJ Big Driis / Big Driis the Londoner, is a hip hop DJ. It’s good to see actors from The Wire popping up all over the TV set.
Idirs is also currently starring in the horror film The Unbornand will soon star opposite Beyonce in the thiller Obsessed (April 24). Check out the trailer below.
