Hip hop has been influencing the film industry for over 25 years. From old school movies such as Wild Style, Beat Street, and Breakin’to actors including Mos Def, Will Smith, Ice Cube, Queen Latifah, 50 Cent and hundreds more, hip hop continues to be a major player in Hollywood. Increasingly, films with hip hop actors, thematic elements and plots are coming to a theater and DVD near you. Thus filminghiphop!

filminghiphop.com (fhh) is where you can find the latest news and reviews of films, television and music videos that impact the hip hop culture. fhh will cover films from script-casting-production-premiere-box office-DVD and all other news in-between Rapper/actor news will also receive coverage on the site so that you can follow what your favorite lyrical thespians are doing in Hollywood. filminghiphop will also cover music videos and photography. You’ll also be able to participate in the discussions through your comments to the post/articles.

We will have plenty of fun on the site but we have several rules that we will try to follow here at filminghiphop.com:

1) At fhh the words film and movie will and can be used interchangeably. Sorry to all of the aficionados.

2) We will keep all comments constructive and clean. No need to turn this into a fighting club.

3) We will try to keep all news items just that, news, and not gossip.

4) Reviews (to come later) are the opinions (well thought out I might add) of the writers at fhh and should not determine whether or not you will go see a film. It’s up to you how you spend your dough so take the review as just that, a review and not a recommendation (unless otherwise stated)

5) If you don’t like something, let us know, we can take it, but please apply Rule #2.
